In my weekend getaway to Brussels, I witnessed an unusual art exhibition: Art on Cows. The happy cows were spread across the entire city, with a bigger concentration in the Atomium area. I took several photos, because I thought the idea was cool. It seems many people thought it was cool, because I started to notice such colorful cows in Bucharest, then I met them in Switzerland, in Lugano.
Where To Stay in Brussels
While today the cows are long gone, all other Brussels monuments and landmarks are as beautiful as ever. If I were to visit this city again, I’d choose a hotel near Grand Place or near Les Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert. Parc du Cinquantenaire is another interesting area for solo travelers and not only.
Memories in Brussels
Anyway, here are the cows I met in Brussels in the summer of 2003 (I can’t believe this was 20 years ago already). You may not find them there now, so don’t pack your bags to go to Brussels for this.
Instead, read my idea of itinerary to spend 2 days in Brussels; maybe you’ll want to follow in my steps.
What do you think? Do you like this kind of art? Is it better than graffiti? Have you seen the cows elsewhere in the world?
